The following equations are used to compute the water and nutrient mass balances of Upper Klamath Lake.

Water Balance

Δ Lake Volume = Precipitation + Gauged Tributary Inflows + Pumped Inflows + Ungauged Inflows – Evaporation – Outflow + Net Release/Retention

Nutrient Balance

Δ Lake Storage = Atmospheric Deposition + Gauged Tributary Loads + Pumped Loads + Ungauged Loads – Outflow Load + Net Release/Retention

Gauged Tributary Inflows

Total Gauged Tributaries = Williamson River (Excl. Sprague) + Sprague River + Wood River + Sevenmile Canal

Pumped Inflows

Pumped Inflows = Agency Lake Ranch (Pumped) + Williamson River Delta (Pumped) + Ungauged Pumped Areas
